Prevention Tip of the Week: Empowerment

Empower the children in your life. Honor a child's right to say "NO" to unwanted touch.

Children should learn that their bodies belong to them and that they can say "NO" to any unwanted touch.

Teach children the correct terms for all body parts including the private areas. Children who learn the correct terms are more comfortable speaking about those areas of their bodies and can communicate more clearly about them.
